Duluth 2018 Registration and Information

Session Information:

Growing Duluth, Accountability Based Group Work with Perpetrators

30th April – 1st May

Cost: $800+GST

This intensive is for advanced practitioners and organisations who

  • have completed a minimum of 2 days of Duluth training and/or
  • are committed to strengthening Duluth practice in their perpetrator program/s
  • are willing to commit to follow-up skill sharing activities in July 2018.

Due to the selection criteria required to attend this intensive workshop, registration will be emailed to individuals that fit the criteria, who expressed their interested previously. Click here to express your interest.

Lessons from Duluth and Beyond: Developing Coordinated Community Response in Australia

2nd May – 4th May

Cost: $850 + GST

The conference will help local, regional and state-based systems to strengthen coordination and collaboration, protect victim survivors and hold perpetrators accountable.

Presenters include:

Melissa Scaia – MPA, Director of International Training at Global Rights for Women, Co-Founder of Domestic Violence Turning Points, and former executive of Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs – ‘the Duluth Model’ – Duluth, Minnesota, St. Louis County

Graham Barnes – former Duluth Men’s Program Facilitator and Trainer – New Zealand

Honourable Shaun Floerke – District Court Judge – Duluth, Minnesota

Laura Goodman – Retired Deputy Chief of Police, Massachusetts

Kay Arola – Executive Director of Arrowhead Regional Corrections – Minnesota

Lori Flohaug – Former prosecutor, public defender, private civil/family law lawyer, and Judge for the Leech Band of Ojibwe – Minnesota

Scott Miller – Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs and Coordinator of Coordinated Community Response programs for the Office of Violence Against Women – Duluth Minnesota

Location:

St Kilda Town Hall, 99A Carlisle St, St Kilda 3182

The entrance for this venue is on Carlisle St and is completely accessible. For further information about the venue call St Kilda Town Hall on (03) 9209 6777

Travel and Transport:

Parking

St Kilda Town Hall has its own underground carpark that is open during business hours but has limited spaces. You can access this from Carlisle St. There are accessible car space in the underground parking near the lift or, two unmetered accessible car spaces near the Carlisle St entrance. There are also two in the Brighton Rd Service Car Park.

Public Transport

Trams 3/3a, 16 and 67 all stop within a 5 minute walk from the venue.

The nearest train station is Balaclava station, which you can catch the Sandringham train to. This is less than 10 minutes away from the venue.

Bus 623 also stops about 5 minutes away from the venue.

Airport

Melbourne Tullamarine Airport is approximately 31km from St Kilda Town hall and may take 30 minutes to an hour to get to. The estimated taxi fare from the airport to St Kilda is : $75.00 AUD (one way).

The cost for an UberX from the Melbourne airport to St Kilda town hall is estimated at $66.00 AUD (one way).

Sky Bus fee: $17.00 AUD (one way)  / $28.00 AUD (return) – bus arrives at Southern Cross Station & departures are every 20 minutes. The Sky Bus does not go to St Kilda.

A registered attendee may transfer a ‘Growing from Duluth and Beyond: Developing a Coordinated Community Response in Australia’ ticket to another individual for no extra cost (please email us their details including name, organisation and any specific dietary or accessibility requirements).
ShantiWorks will refund your ticket (excluding a $100 cancellation fee) if cancellation is received by Friday the 13th of April 2018 at 5pm. After Friday the 13th of April 2018 at 5pm, ShantiWorks will endeavour to replace your registration with another attendee. If we are successful, ShantiWorks will refund your ticket (excluding a $100 cancelation fee). If we are unsuccessful in finding a replacement, your ticket will unfortunately not be refunded.

Growing Duluth, Accountability based Group Work with Perpetrators’

Individuals who register for ‘Growing Duluth, Accountability based Group Work with Perpetrators’ must attend both days as tickets cannot be transferred between individuals throughout the duration of the workshop (9am Monday 30th April 2018 – 5pm Tuesday 1st May 2018 inclusive). If the registered individual knows they cannot attend ‘Growing Duluth, Accountability based Group Work with Perpetrators’ by Friday the 13th of April 2018 at 5pm, please contact us to arrange for another individual to replace you.
ShantiWorks will refund your ticket (excluding a $100 cancelation fee) if cancellation is received by Friday the 13th of April 2018 at 5pm. After Friday the 13th of April 2018 at 5pm, tickets cannot be refunded.
